Clicker.com Welcomes Sling Media Founder Blake Krikorian to Board of Directors

November 05, 2009 -- LOS ANGELES, BUSINESS WIRE --

Clicker Media Inc. announced today that Blake Krikorian, founder and former CEO of Sling Media, makers of the Sling Box, has joined its board of directors. Krikorian will also become an investor in the company.

'Blake is a proven innovator with peerless experience navigating the Internet, entertainment, cable and hardware industries, and is quite simply the best independent director Clicker could ask for,' said Jim Lanzone, CEO and founder of Clicker. 'We're lucky to gain his support and guidance as we mold Clicker into the ultimate programming guide for the new era of online television.'

Blake Krikorian is an accomplished entrepreneur whose companies, over the past 19 years, have revolutionized the way people engage with and consume digital media. Blake most recently served as the co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Sling Media, makers of the Emmy award winning Slingbox(TM), acquired by EchoStar Holding Corporation (NASDAQ: SATS) in October 2007. Blake has been a recipient of the Lifetime Technology Leadership award by Broadcasting & Cable. He currently sits on the Board of Industry Leaders for the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).

'Like many consumers, I am watching more and more shows online these days,' said Blake Krikorian. 'Whether it's from pay services such as Netflix and Amazon VOD, or free streaming via hundreds of sites like SouthPark Studios or NFL.com, the sheer amount of programming, and destinations to watch it online is rapidly increasing. We not only have existing content aggregators like Comcast, but new ones including the content providers ' such as the TV networks and studios ' themselves.'

'One thing is very clear,' continued Krikorian. 'In this new, ever-expanding world of virtually limitless choice, there simply will not be one place that hosts all of the world's content. It will be massively dispersed. This creates the opportunity for a service like Clicker to make it easy for all of us to find, discover and keep track of the shows we like'regardless of the site or service they are hosted on. Clicker is off to a fantastic start, with a remarkable product and first-class team, and I look forward to helping them take things to the next level.'

Krikorian joins Lanzone on the Clicker board of directors, along with Series A investors Bill Gurley of Benchmark Capital and Geoff Yang from Redpoint Ventures, and J.D. Heilprin, founder of ModernFeed, a website acquired by Clicker.
